In Loano we entered a massive and half-empty marina. There was no clear guidance so we moored in a berth around three times the length of Atalanta Mary and headed for the Capitainerie

We arrive in the very large marina / yacht club at Loano in the late afternoon. The marina is in two halves, divided by a central island with a large yacht club / marina building designed to look like a ship. There are no apparent marina staff and a large number of very large vacant pontoons just inside. We take one – 50’ long – and visit the office. It is shut but the person on duty eventually agrees for us to stay one night.

The yacht club has an excellent ‘deck’ area looking back up the coast. We have a very pleasant evening drinking and eating sitting at the wall admiring the sunset. From here we have a birds-eye view of the floating 'Yacht Wash' - just like a car wash with large rotating brushes!

The next day we walk around Loano which is a lovely town. We find the square with two churches and a large town hall which boasts an ancient mosaic. After refreshments we leave Loano at lunch time.
