I can confirm that the plates should have some bend as A90s have a similar shape which I bent when the mast was stepped after renewing them
Timothy,
I have the drawing for a later version of chain plates (A24761) and in the notes it says “manufacture in the flat and set to line with with individual shrouds on assembly”. The middle plate has a slight set on it which the photo doesn’t show.
I sent off the old, original, plates to be used as a template for the new.
Regards,
Simon
Hi Simon,
The chain plates look good. I am now wondering if the bends on the fore and aft ones
are original or custom. All 3 on A77 are straight stainless steel.
Murray,
Many thanks. Yes I have backing plates which pick up all the bolts. I only took one off which had signs of corrosion but it was only localised to the back of the bolt hole which goes through the toe rail and wasn’t bad enough to require replacing.
Hi Simon, nice work. Do you have backing plates that are slightly thinner on the inside and are they ok?
