- After 20 years we have decided to pass on our beloved Atalanta 26.
We have collected many memories and had great adventures with our growing family aboard but are now moving on to something bigger.
She has been kept under a tented cover on our land every winter, and underwent a re- fit in 2022/23 , including repairs to any damaged or degraded wood that could be found and new paint all over topside and underwater exterior surfaces. Keel bolts removed, cleaned + painted in cold galvanise, refitted with new seals. Engine serviced.
Needs new keel slot rubbers, may get these done this summer.
Interior could do with a refresh but is complete and fully functional.
she is fitted with twin rudders (since major refit/rebuild 1998) which are great and allow for easy safe beaching with no worries about hinge damage etc. They work very well even when heeled over and give very good manageability in marina under engine forward and reverse - Engine is a Kingfisher (beta copy) horizontal Diesel twin below cockpit floor. (With spares and manual)
- modifies transom with cut away mount for outboard which is great for dinghy motor storage and also serves to use outboard as auxiliary
- stern mounted swim ladder
- Extensive suit of sails and lots of equipment, dinghy,
- Modern galvanised trailer
- Mast raising winch system makes mast raising easy with two people
- Nav lights , vhf radio, NASA duo depth and log, Auto tiller
I am planning to launch this spring at Exmouth, sea trials welcome, can also easily be brought ashore for lower hull inspection.
I would consider selling deep water mooring on Exe – subject to negotiation
