It is worth noting that Uffa Fox did not claim the design credit for the Atalanta in any of his contemporary books of the 1960s – the only reference ( I found) is a photo of A77 in the “Uffa Fox Book Of Sailing” Where it is referred to as “Atalanta class moulded ply cruisers made by Fairey Marine…” together with a brief summery of Atalanta characteristics. The Fairey Marine product book / brochure of 1958 “Racing Dinghies and Utility Boats” – For the Atalanta entry – gives it as a collaboration between Uffa Fox and Alan Vines, with Uffa Fox as the designer of the “hull lines and rig, i.e. Uffa as Fairey Marine design consultant with significant input on the Atalanta.
