Curlews keels and mechanisms have been removed and restored, fortunately a straightforward job as the stirrups had already been upgraded to stainless. The keels are in good condition but have shot blasted and primed ready of epoxy painting and new anodes. Plates and bolts are also in great condition but will get them galvanised again whilst they are out.

The Keel boxs have been very professionally replaced quite recently, so one less thing to do, very good.

    Out of interest, what primer did you use on the keels and rudder?

    1. To be honest I don’t know!
      The plan is to epoxy when the weather warms up.
      The blasting company were clued up on this. They used a single pack that both cures at low temperatures and will not be dissolved by the 2-pack epoxy paint. Will ad anodes for good measure too.
