A124 The gooseneck fitting. A stainless bolt, some plate and some stainless rod. Plus someone who can weld.
-
A124 The mast track was extended to just above the book by fitting an infill. This allows the sail to stow much more neatly.
-
A124 Simple turning block bolted to the boom end fitting.
-
A124 Reefing lines travel to the forward end of the boom and then return for cleating on the boom. Note the main halyard and topping lift led aft – everything can be done from the cockpit.
-
A124 Loose footed main! B-blocks were fitted each side of the boom rather than aluminium/nylon blocks. The webbing straps took a while to master.
-
A124 The new gooseneck fitting – just a bit of stainless plate welded to a bolt. Note that I had to grind off the top of the ‘end plate’ on the end fitting so that it didn’t saw the foot of the sail.
-
A124 The reefing handle was removed from the old boom in a way that it can be replaced if required. The boom fitting was then matched to a new gooseneck. This clear is for the outhaul.

A124 Some making good to be done! Someone used sikaflex to stick the hatches on. NOOOO! Its more of a glue than is required as can be seen from the missing layers from the plywood.
-
A124 Wood from the keelbox can be seen stuck in the sikaflex. Butyl Rubber is the way to go.
-
A124 Clamping plates are in reasonable condition beneath all the antifouling.

A124 The bolt was worn but not terminally so.
