The Portsmouth Social Weekend and AGM were a great success. Brilliant weather, good turn-out and amazing location.
We had a great couple of days exploring the extensive Portsmouth Historic Dockyard exhibits before closing the weekend with the 2024 AGM. There will a write-up of the event in the Annual Bulletin in December. In the meantime, this is a small selection of snaps capturing the weekend.
The major item of discussion at the AGM was a set of proposals to adjust the operation of the AOA to emphasise a need to preserving as many boats as possible, in addition to our role as an Association for owners. This was lively with a number of changes to the way wy we operate were agreed. More detail in the Summer Newsletter.
Other ideas and questions
There was pretty general agreement that holding the AGM at a venue with boats added to the enjoyment. Many ideas have been put forward for next year and questions raised. We will be consulting with you on plans for next year.
