It is with sadness that we have to report the death of Colin Twyman. Our thoughts are with his family and friends.

Colin owned A95 Hiran for thirty years. He was a mainstay of the AOA for many of these, serving as Secretary for twelve years and then Commodore for nine. In this time he shook up our administration and personally followed almost every Atalanta’s story. Many of us have fond memories of the welcome he gave to newcomers, and the help he gave to all. We will publish a celebration of Colin’s contribution in the 2024-25 Annual Bulletin.

Colin’s funeral is being held in Eltham, South-East London, on Thursday 17th October. The webmaster is in contact with the family and if anyone would like to pay their respects please get in touch using this contact form.

  1. I was sad to hear of Colin’s passing. It was a pleasure to work with Colin on the committee and I remember with fondness his energy and enthusiasm for the AOA,, His good natured help and technical experience was much appreciated by myself, and the many members who have benefitted from Colin’s contribution to the AOA over many years, .

    1. Indeed. Spent time with Colin on Hiran back in the day. He was a real gentleman, very generous and a true believer in the virtues of the Atalanta. He was a huge help with the technical aspects of A87’s restoration. Condolences to his family and friends.
