- Well I finally had to bite the bullet and fitted the port side keel mech bracket with a 1mm gasket made from Hypalon rubber a tube or so of ARBO br (Butyl rubber) coat on every face.
I used Ptfe string on the C/S bolt (A4 316 )15 wraps coated with BR and tightened to pull up to keel boxes to allow fitment of bulkhead bolts .
The clean up took longer than expected but overall I am pleased with the job and am confident it shouldnt leak oops shouldnt have said that Sods law ..The keel bolt tubes fall 4mm short of the 5 mm outer plate so I machined up some 5mm insert rings in A4 to take up the void between the brackets and inner clutch plate which is quite tight
I also modified the outer clutch plate keel bolt stops by removing the stops and welding on shaped crescent blocks tigged on, these fit inside the keel bolt inspection holes in the outer keel box. as seen on previous photos. Starboard to do!!
