Getting to grips with taking out the Farymann Hydraulic Engine and preparing for my Beta 14 to go in. I spent the day having a look over what I need to do, and i realise that I probably need a hiab/cherrypicker to help get the engine out/in. I also removed the hydraulic gearbox which came off easily enough albeit oil went everywhere. Beginning to wonder if I have bitten off more than I can chew.  I have found an engineer to put the new engine in, so makes sense to strip the old out, however I think that the drive shaft coupling will need sorted too as it’s looking a bit non-standard…

I also need to start on the foredeck repair – hoping there might be a passing Atalanta expert who might pop in…

  1. Steve – happy to offer advice, but looks as if you have bases covered………….

  2. Steve, Probably best to ask Mike Dixon who designed and fitted a new engine, gearbox and propshaft set to A1. Slightly different, but the same principal.
