The engine was not in bad condition but needed a tidy and paint up. Some of the ancilliaries and pipework were a bit untidy. I removed the cockpit floor and the engine to clean up the engine bay. The whole of the engine way is lined with 35mm foil backed sound insulation which is why the engine noise is so low. However it had been screwed directly into the engine bay walls which are the sides of the keelbox! This didn’t feel right so I removed the screws, filled the holes, and modified the fixing so that the battens holding the foam were fixed to framing.

A124 The Yanmar 1GM was in reasonable condition but the engine room needed an overhaul.
