He served on eighty different boats and ships and was master of 37 of them. Fisihing boats, coasters, tramps, cattle boats, passenger ships, heavy-lift vessels, nuclear fuel carriers, tankers, VLCCs, OBOs, container ships, dredgers, survey ships, yachts and patrol boats. The book includes two chapters on sailing of Marianda; first an abortive attempt to transit the Grand Union Canal through Dublin; second a trip around Ireland spending nights drying out on beaches and in harbours.00Link
