2027 marks the 40th anniversary of the last Atalanta Cherbourg rally! Mary won it so it only makes sense that I introduce the idea. See https://atalantaowners.org/atalanta-cherbourg-rally/
The motivation for this is not only to celebrate Mary’s previous owners but also to extend this “rally” into Brittany and enjoy as many festivals as we can. For some time taking part in the Brest Maritime Festival has been on my to-do list.
I do not anticipate returning the boat in 2027 but finding somewhere to keep her and return 2028 or 2029. But suggest taking the canal down to Quiberon bay.
The rally is traditionally held on Whitsunday which (I believe) in 2027 is May 16th. But I don’t like nasty weather so would like to shift these dates for optimal enjoyment.
The festivals may include;
Sark Folk and Ale, Paimpol and of course Brest Maritime Festival. But I think the goal of 2027 is to make Paimpol?
But please pitch in as to how we can maximise the sociability of this.
