Our Commodore spotted the following coincidence in The Timesof 7th February – a memory from 1952.
On 31 January 1952 Princess Elizabeth left King George VI, Queen Elizabeth and Princess Margaret at London airport before departing on a BOAC Argonaut “Atlanta” G-ALHK aircraft with Prince Philip for a world tour of Africa, Australia and New Zealand. The trip was cut short a week later when Atalanta carried Elizabeth, now Queen Elizabeth, back to the UK.
