Preventing keels folding up if rolled over

Ever wondered how an ocean-crossing Atalanta would fare in the event of a knockdown?
Me too.

Well, apparently Fairey Marine designed a U-channel fitting which locked between the stirrup pin and the upper section of the screw jack. This locked the keels in the DOWN position so that they wouldn’t swing ‘up’ uncontrollably in the event of a knockdown.
