I’ve received a message describing The Digital Marina, which is a start up website with several interesting ideas:
- Details of various types of boats will be available in “Public berths”
- Owners can maintaindetails of their boat in a “Private berth” with the help of a “Boat pad” app for a monthly fee
- Future plans include social activities (logs, events, messages, etc.) and access to technical resources
The project is being “crowdfunded” by boat owners who are invited to contribute in return for various perks such as free mooring for 1, 10 years, lifetime, or free advertising for marine suppliers.
