Well I bought Solone A162 some 3 years back , she came with a hefty Perkins 4107 which is a 37 horse powered engine , I have been caught out in some very bad weather & can tell you I was very happy to have such an engine installed . Having a powerful engine is very reassuring when things get difficult . As for loss of sailing performance with a heavy engine I personally don’t think it would make much difference , I certainly am very happy with Solones performance .

I have been a family friend of the Calders for many years , sailing quite a few times with hamish’s brother george and his daughter Mairi calder when over in Tanzania. Mairi has been over to stay with us in France quite a few times and I’ve been pushing for her to come sailing in Solone ,
pehaps I never mentioned my new boat was an Atalanta . Ive forwarded this to Mairi and George . Maybe they can come up with some old family pics !!!
