Things move on. Is your offer of pick up and storage still open? If I can negotiate the right deal I may like to take you up on your offer, but might not be able to pick up until much later in the year…

Thanks for the offer – it is very tempting! But not sure I would be allowed to the collection on the drive! Maybe someone else will take you up on your kind offer.
Breaking all the rules of Forum threads, how is Harrier?
Cheers

MemberRegarding drawing B19564, Trevor says:
Sorry B19564 does not show the distance between the supports. That information is on C24586 (which we do not have a copy of).
However one can guess that the chocks are intended to fit in the gaps between the angle beams on the trailer shown on drawing B19564. If you look closely you will see three pairs of angle iron beams crossing the trailer with the leg of the angle uppermost, the outer sets forming slots 3 3/4 inches apart and 3 1/2 inches apart. The beams for supporting the boat are 3 3/4 and 3 1/2 inches wide. Not so easy to see where the third set fit though.
On the other hand the dimensions can be found by measuring the distance between the Aft Cabin front bulkhead and the main diagonal bulkhead. The beams go one under each bulkhead.
Hope that this helps.

MemberThere are lists of drawings under “Shop”, I think B19564 shows the distances between chocks. I”l ask Trevor to confirm.

MemberWe recovered a Type 1 rudder pintle when we broke up A12 three years ago, still attached to a chunk of the skeg. I believe it was sold to A5 Diaphony but I don’t know if he used it or still has it.
Best wishes,
John

MemberClayton Lushay has emailed with more news about the hull illegally dumped in Pennsylvania, USA, believed to be that of A97:
“A while back I had notified you about the 26 that I had previously owned being in an illegal dump. This last week I was able to get up there and take a look at it. The boat has been stripped and it is so rotten that it is well past saving. I appreciate the clubs concern and I apologize to if anyone had wasted time trying to find out nore about the boat. i love the boats and still hope to have another one someday soon.”
Many thanks to Clayton for taking the time to track down the remains of A97, and let’s hope his wish is soon fulfilled!

MemberDavid, I believe A183 Bluster still has the wooden board system for sealing the keel boxes, and she has won the East Coast Race for the last umpteen years. But you should check with Jane to find out if that’s true, and if so how well they work.
A184 Aquilo II uses neoprene flaps along the bottom of the keel boxes, which Richard described in a recent Bulletin, I think it was 2009-10. but again, you should ask him to see how well they’ve worked.
Please let us know which way you decide!
Best wishes, John

MemberMany thanks for your report, Norman, and for organising another successful Atalanta get-together. I was sorry to miss W. Mersea this year, but our wedding event on the same day turned out to be a delightful opportunity for the Ingleby clan to get together again! I look forward to some photos of the race.

MemberBob Telford added further information:“The first thing people should do is look at the Edith May’s Charter – http://www.edithmaybargecharter.co.uk/ – Lower Halstow – schedule – to see when she is based there. She may still sail from her mooring in the creek, and I will check when asked to make sure.Although Edith May is based here, she does not actually have an absolute priority, but as we do not yet have an Hon Harbourmaster, which I seem to be slipping into because I am keen to promote the use of the dock, and Geoff Gransden, who owns Edith May is aware of that; I am also a big supporter of the Edith May being based here so it it is matter of management.”Ning Webmaster
MemberGood news, I hope you like what you see! I’m fairly sure Kerry Piper was her original name but will make sure when I get back home from our Easter Cruise. All the best, John
